Worn by Keith

Worn by, UK

While rummaging in the www I've found the label WornBy printing T-shirts, which have been worn by icons of music, film and so on. Every T is added a polaroid with the particular star, like Mick Jagger, Keith Richards or Blondie. I think that's a funny idea.
So visit Worn by

Decorated of mother nature

Surma and Mursi, Ethiopia

The tribes of Surma and Mursi pay attention to their appearance. Visionary body paintings and fancy accessiores out of feathers, flowers and fruits are their signs of beauty. They create different silhouettes, colour combinations and patterns.

Chanel, mademoiselle!

The following text I had to write for school and I thought I could post it as well.

(And sorry for the line above. Don't know why.)

Chanel A/W 09/10

The Chanel tradition is proceeding. According to the current collection Karl Lagerfeld said: “When I designed the collection for Chanel, I only was putting the notes of Coco together to a new composition.”

In that season Chanel presents very poised and charming versions of coat-dresses and skirt suits, which are graded up by feminine white collar and cuff treatments. There are frothy plissé ruffs, chiffon camellias, and frills encircled the neck or sleeves on soft, fitted black silhouettes.

It is a flourishing mix out of old-school pieces like the consistently recurring hats, the coats and jackets and edgy pieces like the jumpsuits and plastic-bags. Also the schoolbag builds a contrast to the classy style. The all-over jumpsuits with Africa-inspired pattern show the modern spirit Lagerfeld puts into the traditional Channel philosophy.

Lagerfeld worked with bouclé, lace, knit, satin, and sequins, while also swerving in the direction of the leather trend. That trend he interpreted in slim drop-waist dresses. His outstanding talent to combine exceptional things appears in the combination of filmy cloths with firm and classical jackets.

The colours pale green or baby pink are the decorating highlights in a range of overriding black and white designs. The jade Deco-style of pendants and neckpieces aerate in a refreshing way. That pale green can also be found in the jade rings implanted in several pairs of heels.

Finally I think the current winter collection is a felicitous effort bringing freshness to the house of Channel. Lagerfeld always creates a new and exciting composition of marvellous style. The pieces harmonise all together in an easy-going way. Great fashion!

100% Rebel

Clara Bow, Brooklyn
was a silent-movie star and scandalous It-girl. She was a typical flapper of the 20's. The flappers wore their galoshes open, which flapped when they went. They didn't wear corsetts and lived a wicked life. Night-time visits of jazzclubs, provocative dancing, smoking with long cigarette-holders, drinking alcohol and dates with men - That's flapper's lifestyle. Their look was also unique: Much make-up, chunky jewellery like pearl-necklaces and wristbands and the boyish and black "Bob"-haircut. Clara once said: "Matrimony isn't the only job for women, anymore."

Vanguard calling

Brian Lichtenberg, L.A.
is an american designer, who creates futuristic and insurgent fashion for free-spirited people. At the photo of the last post, Yelle is wearing a phantastic suit of B.L. Also artists like M.I.A., Santigold or Peaches wear the exceeding pieces of him. His Runway Show S/S 09, which have to be seen, has the flair of a new and refreshing strangeness supported by the drifty beat. Watch it on http://www.brianlichtenberg.com/

There is also a online-shop on http://www.brianlichtenberg.com/, where you can buy stylish shirts of B.L.

Going bananas

Yelle @Austin
Look at her marvellous stage clothing. The dress with the fringes on the shoulders is doozy. Combined with the chequered leggings it's a dream.

Photography

Some shots of my mum moving in the garden. I took them for a competition with the slogan "Dynamic" and made the 2nd grade. It was much fun to do that with such an amazing person.
Thank you!

Zara is Paradise

I got it. THE blazer and an amazing dress of pure silk and blotched with lace quillings. Fitting to them a pocket, made of drapery layering in a colour gradient of lime and violet.
Très bien!

Amonstro, São Paulo
By combing trough iquons I've found the inspiring prints of the brasilian designer Amonstro. There is a mix-match of art designs, acid-wash, colourful patterns and batik. Also the fringed pullover is fantastic. But as well I'd like to have the freaky glasses, they would flash of course.

Strange Days

BB.artworks, Cesena
A few months ago I bought a piece of the work of BB. It's a cute necklace handmade of padded fabric. In the middle of it there is drawn a weird creature with a heart-head on it. All arround it is ambroidered with shiny pearls. An unlike accessory made by an italian artist, who I became aware of through myspace. Now she has already made an exhibition in Florence and her work have became to it-pieces.

Shake it to the ground!

Austrian Fashion

Hartmann Nordenholz, Vienna
The new collection of the label Hartmann Nordenholz based in Vienna is a very fresh and modern one. There are a few nuances of grey mixed with black and white. The deciding point are the architectual methods which figure the abnormal silhoutte. The pieces look very avantagarde and bracing in an outstanding way.

La musique en france

Yelle, France

When I hear the sound of the phenomenal yelle, I forget about all around me. I have to move my hands to the song and sing, although I can't speak french. The combination of yelle's voice and the fresh beat pushes your mood on the top. Then I could jump ten meters in the air. Don't miss and listen to her. Chouette!

The brainchild

meyoko, Berlin

When you stay in front of a drawing by meyoko, you have to stay eternally to find all the aesthetic hidden creatures, patterns, animals, faces and other ectlectic things. There is an incredible variety of ideas concentrated on one drawing. I think a drawing of meyoko is the mirror what happens in a creative head. It is really outstanding to have the ability to express one's thoughts in that way. Every detail is drawn exactly and is consummatly integrated in the surrounding. The kind of how she links things, which aren't matching up anyway for some people, is also high art, I would say. Every drawing has to be considered precisly, what can be better done on her MySpace site. (link's beneath)

But last to say, Pure Imagination!

meyoko: "I'm drawing, my mind and my soul begin to get lost, totally submerged in the process and before long, hours have gone by unawares. But to me, art, in any form is what gives us a sense of who we are, a peak into our imaginations and the passionate desires that make us individual. It’s almost like a mold; as I pour myself into it what comes out is a solid piece of who I am and the more I develop in this area, the more expressive I am becoming. It is akin to singing from the depths of your soul. It flows in much the same way. I truly believe that every person born has been given the gift of creativity and an artistic ability (or abilities) in which to express themselves in a way that no one else can precisely duplicate".

My little treasure

Mijn Schatje, Paris
Once upon a time there was a little girl called Marie, whose Dutch Grandmother used to call her "mijn schatje" ("my little treasure"). She lived in an eighteenth century castle in France and spent her days reading fairy tales, making jewelry out of the flowers in the garden and playing Princess and Knights with her brother and her pony. When Marie grew up she moved to Paris, got seriously into Electro and learned ninja Illustrator skills, which she now uses to capture her childhood fairy tale in meticulously beautiful vectored lines.

At the moment her work can be seen at the KochXBos gallery in Amsterdam from March the 14th to April the 14th 2009. "Storytelling" is the name of her solo show: Human History shows that there have always been stories, legends, tales, even at the times when most of the people couldn't read, they learned stories by heart and told their children and their children told their children and so on...

Mjin Schatje: "When I was a young child, my parents told me stories or read a book for me before I went to sleep. I remember how I loved it, sometimes it was very dreamy and sometimes a bit scary, but it always made me travel to some exciting new worlds just by feeding my imagination. I believe this is how my creativity was born, and I still believe that even the grown ups need somebody to tell them a story. Storytelling is the action of expressing and sharing ones imagination (and hope) with the world."

L'arte italiana

Lukrezia Borgia, portrayed by Veneto Bartolomeo (1502-1555)

I'll begin with Sasha

More than a model...an inspiring muse and a great artist: "I was playing with pencils while the other girls were playing with dolls."
She is currently collaborating with Miuccia Prada to produce a book of her own artwork in the upcoming year. It will be in the form of a scrapbook and include drawings, photography, and collages. She might also be illustrating a children's book for Karl Lagerfeld.

Sasha Pivovarova attends her "I Spy" at Mansion Night Club on Feb 08,2008 in New York City.
